The trip departs Barcelona at 8:30am. Travel to Girona is by private luxury coach with A/C, DVD, and bathroom. The day will begin a walking tour of the city upon their arrival to Girona. Highlights of the tour include the Girona Cathedral, Jewish Quarter, Arab baths and more.
After a morning of touring the city’s most notable sights, you will have free time for lunch and to explore the city. Suggestions for lunch will be pointed out along the walking tour and guides will also direct students where to go upon conclusion of the tour. You will have the opportunity to explore some of the cities main attractions, with admission to both the Girona Cathedral and Museu del Cinema included. The Girona Cathedral came under construction during the 11th century and the interior includes the widest Gothic nave in the world, with a width of 22 metres. It is also the second widest of any church after that of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The Museu del Cinema holds collection of some of the most iconic cinema and pre cinema materials to date. Some noteworthy props include the lamp from Rick's Cafe in Casablanca; Johnny Depp's scissorhands; Robert de Niro's Raging Bull boxing glove, and Dustin Hoffman's red sequinned Tootsie dress, among many others. After taking the afternoon to explore the museums and unique shops of this quaint, historic town, you will have time to grab a bite to eat before returning to Barcelona that evening.
